This program is designed to work with children between the ages of 0-18yrs. Generally Foster Grandparents work one-on-one or in small groups with children who have fallen behind their peers in school. Foster Grandparents are a valuable resource for schools, parents and communities to help support, encourage, direct and love children. Foster Grandparents must be over the age of 60 where they provide service in classroom and after school programs. They help children learn or improve reading, study and social skills. Foster Grandparents provide an extra hand to help teachers and the community ensure that no child falls through the cracks and is left behind academically, socially or emotionally. Uintah Basin Association of Governments with the Corporation of National & Community Services administers this program.
Other Volunteer Opportunities
Volunteers are always needed for other community programs such as the Food Pantry food box preparation & distribution, County newsletter preparation or Special Events such as the Tower Rock Run, Daggett Daze, Fall Festival or other community events.
