|The Flaming Gorge Area Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Daggett Daze Celebration looks to be bigger and better than ever. Activities will begin on Saturday morning August 30th, at 10:00 am with a Parade along Highway 43 from 2nd West to 3rd or 4th East. To enter a float in the parade, contact Chamber Vice President Brian Raymond at (435) 784-3218 ext. 134. Floats and other parade entries need to start getting in line at 9:00 am. Following the parade there will be activities and food for young and old at the Manila Park. Activities will include games, crafts (booth application), food. Booth Space is still available by contacting Brian or showing up Saturday morning.
There are lots of other ways to enjoy the scenic beauty of Flaming Gorge Country until dark when the Parade of Lights will begin at the Lucerne Marina. The Parade of Lights will be followed by a fireworks display from the Lucerne Peninsula.
The weekend’s festivities will also include the Annual Flaming Gorge Yacht Club's Commodore's Ball, which will be held on Sunday evening at 6 pm in G Loop of the Lucerne Campground near the Lucerne Marina. Non-members are welcome to attend for a fee ($15 for adults and $8 for kids).
The annual Senior's Pancake Breakfast will be held on Monday morning September 1st at the Manila Senior Center. Breakfast will be served starting at 7 am and will continue until the food is gone or people stop coming, which is generally around 11:00 am. The Breakfast costs $6 a plate ($4 for Youth) and helps to support the operation and improvement of the Manila Senior Center.
The Cow Country Jr. Rodeo Series Finals will begin in the rodeo arena at 10 am on Monday September 1st. Come cheer on all the junior rodeo participants as they complete their 5th rodeo of this summer's series.
