Daggett County Wind Energy Regulations

Current Planning and Zoning Regulations
The existing Daggett County Planning and Zoning Ordinance does not specifically address the use of wind energy.  The closest information in the ordinance is where it addresses power generation.  Power Generation is allowed only with a conditional use permit in zones MU-40, 80, and 160, A-20 and 40, and R-R-10.  Tower heights would also be limited to 75 feet when allowed.

Proposed Amendments to the Zoning Regulation
The Planning and Zoning Commission (Planning Commission) has been reviewing documents from state and federal sources plus other local governments for several years.  The link below contains the  April version of the proposal being considered by the Planning Commission.   Modified Version dated May 10, 2011

Public Hearing Scheduled
The County Commission has scheduled a hearing for June 7th , 2011 at 7:00 pm at the County Courthouse to allow public input on the general idea of wind generation and the proposed ordinance.
